60 women rag pickers from Raipur slums were mobilised and trained as Sewing Machine Operators (30) and Street Food Vendors (30). They were also counselled on hygiene, grooming and giving up tobacco, so they could run small businesses or take up domestic work with dignity.
Domestic workers in Raipur were trained as Housekeeper-cum-Cook: using modern appliances in guest houses, hotels and bungalows, basic cooking, hygiene, etiquette and communication. Most were placed in hospitality: guest houses, rest houses, government food outlets and community halls.
